Upgrading to WordPress 3

I’ll be doing an upgrade to all my personal, business and clients’ WordPress from today onwards and will be sharing my findings of bugs (if any) here.
I won’t lie and be a hypocrite – I am not a fan of upgrading softwares, seriously! But hey, someone’s gotta do it!
Today I started with one of my client’s website since it’s a fairly simple theme to build, I was confident I’ll get the least headaches from it
Lets see how it goes!
Everything seems to be working well, nothing on posts and pages are broken so far. Search is fine, my custom theme options is fine
One tiny problem with displaying the comments template though,

I started digging through my single.php. I was pretty sure the function <?php comments_template( ”, true ); ?> is still valid on WP 3 so I started googling and found this thread – before that I switched themes and realized that it only works when you have a ‘comments.php’ in the theme folder.
That’s strange isn’t it? Wouldn’t it call the system comments.php if it isn’t in the theme folder, similar to how the search form works?
Oh well, so problem solved when I placed the comments.php in my theme folder
So that’s done. One upgrade down. I’ll be working with the other sites later and will continue to update this post!
ps: I am missing the dark grey header and selected state of section menu in WP 2.9 admin
31st august 2010
After abandoning my upgrades for almost 2 months, I finally got to update this blog and the previous client site to WP 3.1.. I’m probably gonna be upgrading the rest but later lah.. so far so good.. no probs yet
more updated: pbt, ndid, otb, bc-playground
belum: bcsandbox real n dev, bcv2 real n dev, ss, vcv1

This will be a short one as I’m kinda busy now but dudes, fellas, ladies, homies of Cyberjaya, your sweet YB is more than happy to tell you that we have a new Kelantanese restaurant in our friendly neighbourhood! Woot woot.
It’s located at Neo Cyber. The other end opposite Mak Teh
Opens ’til 7pm only thought at the moment.
What to have? Sambal udang, ayam goreng berempah and sambal ikan keli. I’ve had them and they’re DELICIOUS! The sambal udang is really really spicy though so if you can’t stand spicy food, be careful!
What to pass? Coconut shake. Don’t! It’s like drinking coconut milk/santan LOL epic fail coconut shake!
Alrighty, that’s it for now!

It’s that time of the month again where I feel like strangling everyone in sight ha!
- Clients from hell seem to be visiting us too much lately driving me up the walls – this is a challenge as we rarely have to deal with them. Now things we heard from other people are happening to us!
- Multiple deadlines at a time – this is typical but with the other things that are going on, this has become almost too unbearable
- Random misfortunes. Burning lights for example? Pfffttt
- Management of this place is crazy man. I don’t think ‘irresponsible’ is the correct word. Sigh.
- I’m done ranting, I’ve got 26 pages to convert to HTML/CSS
Historical day for Singapore

Orchard Road experienced a severe flash flood today. Nobody would’ve ever thought that could happen in Orchard Road, heck, any part of Singapore in fact
But today, it happened. God has magnificent ways of showing things to us and I hope this event will be an eye-opener to all
Singapore is known for their well-planned and execution town planning and drainage system so we were all shocked that this could happen
My heart goes out to the shoppers, shop owners and passers-by.
Could this be an after effect of the tsunami that hit Indonesia earlier this afternoon? Hmm..

written on valentines day, 2010
stanza 1
24 hours i was wondering where to go and i had no idea
if i should drive 25 miles ahead
he had me wrapped round his fingers, and i dont see why i should leave ever-
rything just felt so damn right
break 1
but just as i woke the morning after
with sheets covered our feet
and the voices in my head telling me
then i knew it was hardly love
stanza 2
looking through these boxes, read the letters you wrote,
shed on photos we took
sounds of empty hallways never felt so loud
slammed the door shut, knees to my head, cried a river so i can forget
this is my final call to you
break 2
but just as i woke the morning after
with sheets thrown on the floor
still the voices in my head telling me
then i knew it was hardly love
To listen to the song…

I just stumbled upon this fantastic, talented man who’s heart & soul is in music and just recently, he ventured into programming
Read his inspiring story here on his journey on becoming someone who can sing from someone who can barely hit the right pitch
I had to remember this story now because I’m spending most of my time doing things I’m not good at. It’s overwhelming, sometimes.
And check out some of the kickass songs, melodies and lyrics I haven’t heard in a while. They feel genuine and timeless.
