She held his hand in hers, with their eyes locked on each other. She bit her lower lip and blinked. Tears started filling up the corner of her eyes. There is nothing else that could make her hold back no longer. She felt his grip tightened and she started sobbing into his chest uncontrollably.

“Why don’t you get a job here?”

“Do we have to go through this all over again Eve?”

“It would help if you told me a month before you go, not a week before”

“I told you last month. You just don’t remember things….”

She sighed and looked away, almost muttering under her breath. “Yeah right”

“Come on Eve. We have a few days left, it’s not that I’ll be leaving tomorrow?”

“Maybe you should!” She spun around and walked off.

“Eve! Come on!” He called after her.

Before I met you, I never had a clue about what I was missing then I felt the truth in the way you’re kissing me.

He caught up with her and held her arm. “Come on, lets go get some ice cream, please?”

She had her back turned on him, arms crossed on her chest.

“I promise you could have double?”

“Fine!”

He smiled. “Don’t you cry Eve. I will never leave you anymore”

It’s been so long since we’ve kissed. I never knew that love could feel quite like this. And our lips meet, touch the sky.

“But I’m not sure if I want you here, like this. You don’t deserve any of this.”

“Like this? I’m perfectly fine, Eve. I didn’t lose my heart. It’s just a leg.” He quietly said.

She sobbed even harder tugging on his shirt. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. If it wasn’t for me, this wouldn’t have happened. I’m so sorry.”

But I’m just trying to love you in any kind of way. But I find it hard to love you girl…

Friday Mixtape

He spilled coffee on his shirt. Drank too much, his head started to hurt. He stuttered when he tried to speak.

“What would you like to have, sir?”

“Ladies first” He tried to be smooth but failed terribly as his fork slipped off the table before he could catch it

“Shit, sorry about that”

She giggled. His face was burning red “I’ll have a rib-eye. Big eater. Medium-well please. Juicier that way”

“And you sir?”

He cleared his throat “Uhh, mmm.. fish and chips for me please.. and uhm, warm water”

The waiter nodded and walked away

“Warm water? Really?”

He laughed “Yeah…”

“Awet muda ke?”

“Oh no no tak lah.. habit kot”

“Something I should pick up as well. I’ve been consuming too much caffeine I can die anytime”

“Uh..yeah.. I mean, nahh.. you’ll be fine.. you look fine..”

And we lay on the floor, lost in our thoughts

“Really? You look fine too”

“Oh no no, I mean I don’t… I mean you know.. yeah.. ”

She laughed “You look so tensed, relax.. ”

Your gaze caught me off the beat

“I’m fine… I’ve just never been on a date with such a beautiful girl” He nailed it this time

She laughed “Tell me you googled that up before seeing me”

He got offended “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“Gurau je lah… kan dah cakap, tensed!”

In between appetizers and main courses, he loosened up. They shared fears, passions and laughter

Over dessert, he asked her out again

“You don’t ask a girl for a second date over dessert. You ask her…”

“That puts me on top of the list, doesn’t it? For not being typical” He quickly cut her off

She smiled “Maybe yes, maybe no”
